lativirgatus, Microgenys Pearson [N. E.] in Eigenmann 1927:355 [Memoirs of the Museum of Comparative Zoology v. 43 (pt 4); ref. 12292] Rio Pusoc [probably Río Púsac], above Balsas, Peru. Syntypes: CAS 47171 [ex IU 17642] (4). The gender is evidently feminine, so name changed to lativirgata. •Valid as Microgenys lativirgata Pearson 1927 -- (Ortega & Vari 1986:9 [ref. 9708] as lativirgatus, Langeani in Reis et al. 2003:144 [ref. 27061], Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893], Netto-Ferreira 2024:218 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Microgenys lativirgata Pearson 1927. Stevardiidae: Creagrutinae. Distribution: South America: Maranon River drainage, upper Amazon River basin, Peru. Habitat: freshwater.

Paratypes: CAS 47170 [ex IU 12818] (1), FMNH 56216 (1). Type catalog: Henn 1928:66 [ref. 12305], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:56 [ref. 12367]. The genus is evidently feminine, so name changed to minuta. •Valid as Microgenys minuta Eigenmann 1913 -- (Langeani in Reis et al. 2003:144 [ref. 27061], Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:60 [ref. 35633], Netto-Ferreira 2024:218 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Microgenys minuta Eigenmann 1913. Stevardiidae: Creagrutinae. Distribution: South America: Cauca River basin, Colombia. Habitat: freshwater.

Holotype (unique): ANSP 71627. Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:55 [ref. 13621]. Possible synonym of Bryconacidnus ellisi according to Langeani in Reis et al. 2003:144 [ref. 27061] •Valid as Microgenys weyrauchi Fowler 1945 -- (Ortega & Vari 1986:9 [ref. 9708], Langeani in Reis et al. 2003:145 [ref. 27061], Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893], Chuctaya et al. 2022:22 [ref. 42137], Netto-Ferreira 2024:218 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Microgenys weyrauchi Fowler 1945. Stevardiidae: Creagrutinae. Distribution: South America: Amazon River basin (Bolivia and Peru). IUCN (2016): Data Deficient. Habitat: freshwater.
