Holotype: MZUSP 81026. Paratypes: MCP 35007 (3), MZUSP 81025 (22, 4 c&s). •Valid as Deuterodon aphos (Zanata & Akama 2004) -- (Terán et al. 2020:7 [ref. 37440], Vieira-Guimarães et al. 2024:37 [ref. 41258]). •Valid as Myxiops aphos Zanata & Akama 2004 -- (Menezes & Marinho 2019:12 [ref. 36822], Silva et al. 2020:6 [ref. 37809], Melo et al. 2024:21 [ref. 41541] in Stygichthyinae). Current status: Valid as Myxiops aphos Zanata & Akama 2004. Acestrorhamphidae: Stygichthyinae. Distribution: South America: Lençóis River drainage, Bahia (Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.

Paratypes: MCP 17919 (8, 1 c&s). •Valid as Astyanax pelecus Bertaco & Lucena 2006 -- (Abilhoa & Duboc 2007:45 [ref. 29285], Zanata & Camelier 2009:175 [ref. 30252], Zanata et al. 2017:508 [ref. 35145], da Graça et al. 2017:13 [ref. 35556], Lucena et al. 2017:6 [ref. 35607], Zanata et al. 2018:486 [ref. 35984], Silva et al. 2020:5 [ref. 37809]). •Valid as Deuterodon pelecus (Bertaco & Lucena 2006) -- (Terán et al. 2020:7 [ref. 37440], Vieira-Guimarães et al. 2024:38 [ref. 41258]). •Valid as Myxiops pelecus (Bertaco & Lucena 2006) -- (Melo et al. 2024:21 [ref. 41541] in Stygichthyinae). Current status: Valid as Myxiops pelecus (Bertaco & Lucena 2006). Acestrorhamphidae: Stygichthyinae. Distribution: South America: upper Pardo River drainage, Bahia (Brazil) endemic. Habitat: freshwater.
