Possible types: RMNH 4755. Appeared without distinguishing features in list in Bleeker 1849:5 [ref. 320]. •Valid as Odonteleotris canina (Bleeker 1849) -- (Larson in Randall & Lim 2000:638 [ref. 25122], Larson et al. 2008:138 [ref. 29532], Parenti 2021:23 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Valid as Odonteleotris canina (Bleeker 1849). Butidae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Java (Indonesia) and Singapore. Habitat: marine.

Holotype (unique): ?RMNH 4472. •Valid as Odonteleotris macrodon (Bleeker 1853) -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:978 [ref. 20764], Kottelat et al. 1993:135 [ref. 23448], Larson in Randall & Lim 2000:638 [ref. 25122], Larson & Murdy 2001:3577 [ref. 26293], Hoese 2006:1606 [ref. 28998], Larson et al. 2013:186 [ref. 32988], Kottelat 2013:394 [ref. 32989], Parenti 2021:23 [ref. 38603], Kobayashi et al. 2023:166 [ref. 40388]). Current status: Valid as Odonteleotris macrodon (Bleeker 1853). Butidae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific watersheds: eastern India and Myanmar east to Indonesia. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
