R.] 1914:104, Pl. 20 [Biological Results Endeavour v. 2 (pt 3); ref. 2940] Great Australian Bight west of Eucla, 33°20'S, 126°-127°E, South Australia, depth 70-120 fathoms. Holotype: AMS E.2468. Paratypes: (2) AMS I.12316 (1), QM I.1399 (1), ?TMH D148/13029-D149/13030 [old nos. 34-35, ex AMS E2329 and 2333] (1, 1). W.] 1875:314 [Annals and Magazine of Natural History (Series 4) v. 16 (no. 95) (art. 41); ref. 18317] Coast of Otago, Bass Strait, New Zealand. Holotype (unique): ?BMNH 1886.11.18.5 [ex OM] (stuffed). Hutton specimens: OM A.75.18 (1, stuffed). Type catalog: Russell 1996:227 [ref. 22562]. Originally as Therapon (?) rubiginosus.
