Paratypes: HUMZ 153700-04 (1, 1, 1, 1, 1), 172395-96 (1, 1), 172399 (1); KNUM 1051-52 (1, 1); NSMT-P 61563 (1). •Valid as Porocottus leptosomus Muto, Choi & Yabe 2002 -- (Kim et al. 2020:103 [ref. 39118]). Current status: Valid as Porocottus leptosomus Muto, Choi & Yabe 2002. Psychrolutidae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: Yellow Sea, Sea of Japan (Korea). Habitat: marine.

Holotype (unique): USNM 33863. Author is T. H. Bean. See Mecklenburg et al. 2002:405 and 484 [ref. 25968] •Valid as Porocottus quadrifilis Gill 1859 -- (Neelov 1979:136 [ref. 3152], Sheiko & Fedorov 2000:29 [ref. 25650], Mecklenburg et al. 2002:484 [ref. 25968], Muto et al. 2002:231 [ref. 26331], Parin et al. 2002:S84 [ref. 28300], Love et al. 2005:91 [ref. 37547], Parin et al. 2014:269 [ref. 33547], Love et al. 2021:124 [ref. 39279]). Current status: Valid as Porocottus quadrifilis Gill 1859. Psychrolutidae. Distribution: North Pacific: probably Bering Strait; known from only one record with uncertain locality. Habitat: marine.
