Current status: Valid as Ratabulus fulviguttatus Imamura & Gomon 2010. Platycephalidae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean: northern Western Australia and Northern Territory (Australia). Habitat: marine. heterolepis, Platycephalus Barnard [K. H.] 1927:77 [Annals and Magazine of Natural History (Series 9) v. 20 (no. 115) (art. 8); ref. 193] Inhaca Island, Mozambique, southwestern Indian Ocean. Holotype (unique): SAM 12360.
