Lectotype selected by Skelton 1988:295 [ref. 7302]. •Valid as Barbus calidus Barnard 1938 -- (Lévêque & Daget 1984:234 [ref. 6186], Skelton 1988:295 [ref. 7302], Skelton 1993:153 [ref. 24071], Skelton 2001:153 [ref. 27406]). •Valid as Pseudobarbus calidus (Barnard 1938) -- (Yang et al. 2015:89, 112 [ref. 33694]). •Valid as Sedercypris calidus (Barnard 1938) -- (Skelton et al. 2018:19 [ref. 35835]). Current status: Valid as Sedercypris calidus (Barnard 1938). Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Distribution: Clanwilliam - Olifants River system, southern Africa. Habitat: freshwater.

Type catalog: Skelton & Stuart 1987:182 [ref. 12628]. •Valid as Barbus erubescens Skelton 1974 -- (Lévêque & Daget 1984:243 [ref. 6186], Skelton 1988:300 [ref. 7302], Skelton 1993:154 [ref. 24071], Skelton 2001:154 [ref. 27406]). •Valid as Pseudobarbus erubescens (Skelton 1974) -- (Yang et al. 2015:89, 112 [ref. 33694], Hayes & Armbruster 2017:356 [ref. 35417] as Pseudobarbus). •Valid as Sedercypris erubescens (Skelton 1974) -- (Skelton et al. 2018:19 [ref. 35835]).
