Holotype (unique): ZSM 5893. Type catalog: Neumann 2011:248 [ref. 31652]. Originally as sanctae-mariae, correction mandatory. •Synonym of Thayeria obliqua Eigenmann 1908 -- (Lima & Moreira in Reis et al. 2003:157 [ref. 27061], Moreira 2024:282 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Synonym of Thayeria obliqua Eigenmann 1908. Acestrorhamphidae: Thayeriinae. Habitat: freshwater.

tapajonica, Thayeria Moreira [C. R.] & Lima [F. C. T.] 2017:138, Figs. 1, 2A, 3 [Zootaxa 4344 (no. 1); ref. 35664] Rio Cristalino (tributary of rio São Benedito), pousada Thaimaçu, Jacareacanga, Pará, Brazil, 9°4'46''S, 56°31'51''W. Holotype: MZUSP 122872. Paratypes: CPUFMT, INPA, LIRP, MCP, MNRJ, MPEG, MZUSP, NRM, UF, ZUEC. Plus additional non-type material. •Valid as Thayeria tapajonica Moreira & Lima 2017 -- (Moreira 2024:282 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Thayeria tapajonica Moreira & Lima 2017. Acestrorhamphidae: Thayeriinae. Distribution: South America: Rio Tapajós basin, Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
