Holotype (unique): ZMB 3312. Type catalog: Paepke 1999:74 [ref. 24282] as Cyprinus tinca auratus. Originally as Cyprinus tinca auratus, but apparently for a species. Name available from plate. On p. 74 of Bloch's Ichthyologie, v. 1 [ref. 21381] it appeared as Cyprinus tinca-auratus. Lacepède 1803:541 [ref. 4930] treated the name as tincauratus, which is an unjustified emendation. •Synonym of Tinca tinca (Linnaeus 1758) -- (Kottelat 1997:84 [ref. 22952]).
