Distribution: Southern Indian Ocean: Prince Edward Islands (South Africa); Crozet Islands (France) [this subspecies]. Habitat: marine. chereshnevi, Zanclorhynchus Balushkin [A. V.] & Zhukov [M. Current status: Valid as Zanclorhynchus chereshnevi Balushkin & Zhukov 2016. Zanclorhynchidae. Distribution: Southern Indian Ocean: Prince Edward Islands (South Africa), Crozet Islands (France); Kerguelen Islands (France). Habitat: marine. heracleus, Zanclorhynchus spinifer Zhukov [M. Yu.] & Balushkin [A. V.] 2018:98, Figs. 1-2 [Voprosy Ikhtiologii v. 58 (no. 1); ref. 35825] Ridge of Hercules, Pacific-Antarctic Ridge, the Southern Bank, 53°44'S, 140°19'W, depth 260-380 meters. Holotype: ZIN 56110. Paratypes: ZIN.
