A) [Annals and Magazine of Natural History (Series 6) v. 17 (no. 100) (art. 37); ref. 14607] Old Calabar, Nigeria [but locality probably the Ogowe River, Gabon]. Holotype (unique): BMNH 1896.5.5.100. For type locality see Teugels & Hopkins 1998:200 [ref. 23311]. •Valid as Pollimyrus kingsleyae (Günther 1896) -- (Gosse 1984:117 [ref. 6169], Bigorne in Lévêque et al. 1990:178 [ref. 21589], Bigorne 1991:319 [ref. 20236] with subspecies, Lévèque et al. 1991:139 [ref. 31367], Levin & Golubtsov 2018:72 [ref. 35732]). •Valid as Brienomyrus kingsleyae (Günther 1896) -- (Teugels & Hopkins 1998:199 [ref. 23311]). •Valid as Paramormyrops kingsleyae (Günther 1896) -- (Hopkins et al. 2007:303 [ref. 30019], Rich et al. 2017:[13] [ref. 35306], Skelton 2019:226 [ref. 36564], Fermon et al. 2022:125 [ref. 39448], Walsh et al. 2022:[5] [ref. 39281]). Current status: Valid as Paramormyrops kingsleyae (Günther 1896). Mormyridae. Distribution: Western-central Africa: southern Cameroon, Gabon, Republic of Congo, and Angola. Habitat: freshwater.
