Spelled oxyrhinchus and oxyrhynchus in literature. Freyhof & Schoeter 2005 [not investigated] name a neotype; if a syntype is extant then neotype designation in incorrect. •Mention -- (Reshetnikov 1998:44 [ref. 23570]). •Valid as Coregonus oxyrinchus (Linnaeus 1758) -- (Lelek 1987:87 [ref. 22962] as oxyrhynchus). •Synonym of Coregonus lavaretus (Linnaeus 1758) -- (Berg 1948:364 [ref. 12882], Reshetnikov 1998:43 [ref. 23570]). •Synonym of Coregonus lavaretus (Linnaeus 1758), but a valid subspecies -- (Svetovidov 1973:149 [ref. 7169], Svetovidov in Whitehead et al. 1984:376 [ref. 13675]). •Valid as Coregonus oxyrinchus (Linnaeus 1758) -- (Kottelat 1997:120 [ref. 22952], Hanel 2003:60 [ref. 27894], Hanel & Lusk 2005:325 [ref. 28804], Kottelat & Freyhof 2007:379 [ref. 29996]).
