profundus, Salmo salvelinus var. Schillinger [A.] 1901:151, Fig. [Allgemeine Fischerei-Zeitung. Organ des Deutschen Fischerei-Vereins. v. 26 (no. 7, art. 6); ref. 20784] Lake Constance, Germany. Lectotype: whereabouts unknown. Paralectotypes: whereabouts unknown. Kottelat 1997:154 [ref. 22952] "restricted" the type locality to Lake Constance, but the Code does not provide for such restriction in that manner. Freyhof & Kottelat 2005:255 [ref. 28187] selected a lectotype the specimen figured by Schillinger (specimen not extant). •Valid as Salvelinus profundus (Schillinger 1901) -- (Kottelat 1997:154 [ref. 22952], Freyhof & Kottelat 2005:255 [ref. 28187], Kottelat & Freyhof 2007:454 [ref. 29996], Doenz & Seehausen 2020:[2] [ref. 37524]). Current status: Valid as Salvelinus profundus (Schillinger 1901). Salmonidae: Salmoninae. Distribution: Central Europe: Lake Constance: Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Habitat: freshwater.
