Berg ascribes the species to Mikhin 1949, Trudy Arkticheskogo Instituta, type locality L. Taimyr, type no. 31497; reference not yet found but that description is apparently not available. •See Dorofeeva & Savvaitova 1998:38 [ref. 23574]. •Valid as Salvelinus taimyricus Mikhin 1949 -- (Chereshnev 1996:605 [ref. 24659], Reshetnikov et al. 1997:730 [ref. 24702], Bogutskaya et al. 2001:46 [ref. 26178], Bogutskaya & Naseka 2004:162 [ref. 28183], Dyldin et al. 2020:114 [ref. 37569]). Current status: Valid as Salvelinus taimyricus Mikhin 1949. Salmonidae: Salmoninae. Distribution: North Asia: Taimyr Peninsula, including Taimyr, Lama, Khantaika Sobach'ye and Keta lakes (Russia). Habitat: freshwater.
