Current status: Valid as Bajacalifornia burragei Townsend & Nichols 1925. Alepocephalidae. Distribution: Red Sea; western Pacific: South China Sea; eastern Pacific: southern California (U.S.A.) south to Chile, including Gulf of California (Mexico). Habitat: marine.
