McDowall 1994:261 [ref. 21518] corrects the type locality; but this is disputed by Patrick & Woods 1995 [ref. 21725] whose locality is given above along with remarks on types. •Valid as Stokellia anisodon (Stokell 1941) -- (McDowall 1979:109 [ref. 7021], Paulin et al. 1989:87 [ref. 24556], McDowall 1994:261 [ref. 21518], McDowall & Stewart 2015:380 [ref. 34241]). Current status: Valid as Stokellia anisodon (Stokell 1941). Retropinnidae: Retropinninae. Distribution: New Zealand. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
