Paralectotypes: MCZ 28528-29 (3, 1), 35147 (1), 35193 (1), 96653-57 (1, 2, 1, 1, 1); USNM 120239-41 [ex MCZ 28529 and 19367] (1 ea.), 170966 (1). Lectotype selected by Schultz 1961 [ref. 10156]. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: southern California (U.S.A.) south to Chile, including Galapagos Islands (Ecuador). Habitat: marine.
