Current status: Valid as Astronesthes lucifera Gilbert 1905. Stomiidae: Astronesthinae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Yemen east to Hawaiian Islands, north to Taiwan, south to Loyalty Islands (New Caledonia). Habitat: marine.
