Paratypes: AMNH 20401 (1). •Valid as Bathypterois pectinatus Mead 1959 -- (Sulak 1977:93 [ref. 4299], Pequeño 1989:34 [ref. 14125], Pequeño 1997:81 [ref. 23536], Castellanos-Galindo et al. 2006:252 [ref. 28944], Grove et al. 2022:17 [ref. 41326]). Current status: Valid as Bathypterois pectinatus Mead 1959. Ipnopidae. Distribution: Southeastern Pacific: Panama south to northern Chile, including Galapagos Islands (Ecuador). IUCN (2020): Least Concern. Habitat: marine.
