Paralectotypes: YPM 2144 (1 stained). Type catalog: Moore & Boardman 1991:11 [ref. 16741]. Lectotype selected by Swinney 1994:814 [ref. 22031]. •Synonym of Evermannella indica Brauer 1906 -- (Johnson 1982:136 [ref. 5519], Johnson 1990:391 [ref. 15266]). •Valid as Evermannella melanoderma Parr 1928 -- (Swinney 1994:809 [ref. 22031], see Mundy 2005:209 [ref. 28379], Arronte et al. 2012:649 [ref. 32044] with genus as Evermanella, Russell 2016:1839 [ref. 34572], Carneiro et al. 2019:112 [ref. 37250], Sutton et al. 2020:133 [ref. 37832], Fermon et al. 2022:185 [ref. 39448] possible). Current status: Valid as Evermannella melanoderma Parr 1928. Evermannellidae. Distribution: Atlantic. Habitat: marine.
