Holotype: USNM 92311. •Questionably a synonym of Lampanyctus festivus Tåning 1928 -- (Paxton 1979:14 [ref. 6440]). •Synonym of Lampanyctus festivus Tåning 1928 -- (Chen 2002:186 [ref. 26587], see Mundy 2005:224 [ref. 28379]). •Valid as Lampanyctus bensoni (Fowler 1934) -- (Fujii in Masuda et al. 1984:70 [ref. 6441], Nakabo 2000:391 [ref. 25086], Nakabo 2002:391 [ref. 26001]). Current status: Valid as Lampanyctus bensoni (Fowler 1934). Myctophidae: Lampanyctinae. Distribution: Western North Pacific. Habitat: marine.
