Lectotype: NRM 11213. Paralectotypes: (3 + 1) NRM 9364 (1), 11106 (1). Appeared on p. 9 and on p. 43 under two geographical regions; all specimens considered syntypes. Current status: Synonym of Muraenolepis marmorata Günther 1880. Muraenolepididae. Distribution: Southern Ocean. Habitat: marine.
