Holotype (unique): USNM 47748. •Valid as Laemonema verecunda (Jordan & Cramer 1897) -- (Cohen in Cohen et al. 1990:361 [ref. 18936] atributed to Gilbert 1899). •Valid as Microlepidium verecundum (Jordan & Cramer 1897) -- (Paulin in Fischer et al. 1995:1285 [ref. 22830]). •Valid as Laemonema verecundum (Jordan & Cramer 1897) -- (Meléndez C. & Markle 1997:650 [ref. 23369], Love et al. 2005:55 [ref. 37547], Castellanos-Galindo et al. 2006:196 [ref. 28944], Okamoto et al. 2008:235 [ref. 35246], Fourriére et al. 2016:455 [ref. 34668], Del Moral-Flores et al. 2016:607 [ref. 34923], Morales-Azpeitia et al. 2017:123 [ref. 36166], Love et al. 2021:78 [ref. 39279], Page et al. 2023:102 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Laemonema verecundum (Jordan & Cramer 1897). Moridae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: southern tip of Baja California Sur (Mexico) and Revillagigedo Islands (Mexico).
