Distribution: Eastern Atlantic: Morocco south to Namibia; Red Sea; Indo-West Pacific: Cape of Goof Hope to KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), East Africa, Persian Gulf, Seychelles and Madagascar east to Fiji, north to southern Korea and Japan, south to Queensland (Australia); Mediterranean Sea (possibly a Red Sea immigrant). Habitat: marine.
