Paralectotypes: (many) BMNH 1897.7.5.41-44 (4), ZIN 10934 (2 of 3), 11272 (6+). Lectotype selected by Svetovidov 1952:20 [ref. 21481]. •Valid as Clupeonella grimmi Kessler 1877 -- (Berg 1948:167 [ref. 12882], Whitehead 1985:54 [ref. 5141], Coad 1995:9 [ref. 23608], Reshetnikov et al. 1997:728 [ref. 24702], Dorofeeva 1998:30 [ref. 23573], Coad 1998:102 [ref. 23869], Bogutskaya & Naseka 2004:38 [ref. 28183], Esmaeili et al. 2010:366 [ref. 33391], Jouladeh-Roudbar et al. 2015:860 [ref. 34062], Esmaeili et al. 2017:29 [ref. 35254], Esmaeili et al. 2018:10 [ref. 36089]). Current status: Valid as Clupeonella grimmi Kessler 1877. Clupeidae. Distribution: Caspian Sea basin. Habitat: brackish, marine.
