Syntypes: MCZ 28576-77 (5). Original genus should have been Macrourus. •Valid as Nezumia loricata (Garman 1899), subspecies loricata (Garman 1899) -- (Iwamoto & McCosker 2001:27 [ref. 25777], McCosker & Rosenblatt 2010:189 [ref. 30957]). •Valid as Nezumia loricata (Garman 1899) -- (Iwamoto 1979:174 [ref. 2311], Paxton et al. 1989:328 [ref. 12442], Pequeño 1989:46 [ref. 14125], Iwamoto in Cohen et al. 1990:275 [ref. 18936], Gomon et al. 1994:362 [ref. 22532], Iwamoto & Schneider in Fischer et al. 1995:1255 [ref. 22829], Chirichigno F. & Vélez D. 1998:238 [ref. 24555], Grove et al. 2022:17 [ref. 41326]). Current status: Valid as Nezumia loricata (Garman 1899). Macrouridae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Galapagos Islands (Ecuador) endemic (subspecies loricata). Habitat: marine.
