Holotype (unique): BMNH 1887.12.7.123. Original genus should have been Macrourus. Also appeared in Günther 1887: 148, Pl. 29 (fig. B) [ref. 2013]. •Valid as Abyssicola macrochir (Günther 1877) -- (Okamura in Masuda et al. 1984:96 [ref. 6441], Okamura in Okamura & Kitajima 1984:221, 364 [ref. 8057], Nakabo 2000:429 [ref. 25086], Nakabo 2002:429 [ref. 26001], Shinohara et al. 2005:416 [ref. 28370], Shinohara et al. 2014:241 [ref. 33330]). •Valid as Caelorinchus macrochir (Günther 1877) -- (Shinohara et al. 1996:169 [ref. 26605], Shinohara et al. 2001:305 [ref. 25995]). •Valid as Coelorinchus macrochir (Günther 1877) -- (Iwamoto in Cohen et al. 1990:171 [ref. 18936], Balanov 2003:565 [ref. 27175], Kim et al. 2009:110 [ref. 30413], Parin et al. 2014:164 [ref. 33547], Iwamoto et al. 2015:61 [ref. 35408], Nakayama 2020:100 [ref. 37888]). Current status: Valid as Coelorinchus macrochir (Günther 1877). Macrouridae. Distribution: Western North Pacific: Japan, Okhotsk Sea, Korea and East China Sea, Taiwan. Habitat: marine.
