Syntypes (renamed kermadecus): BMNH 1887.12.7.60 and .61 and .62 (1, 1, 1). Type catalog: Wheeler & O'Riordan 1969:95 [ref. 20752], Bailly et al. 1999:231 [ref. 24244], Balushkin & Prirodina 2008:152 [ref. 33662]. Original genus should have been Macrourus.
