F, 75 (fig. 2) [Memoirs of the Museum of Comparative Zoology v. 24; ref. 1540] Off Panama Bay, 6°-7° and 16°N, 79°-81° and 99°W, Albatross station 3358, 3393, 3394, 3418, depth 511-1020 fathoms. Syntypes: MCZ 28669 (2), 28671-72 (2, 2), 28673 (ca. 10). Holotype if identifiable is 17 inches in length and may be in MCZ 28672. •Valid as Dicrolene filamentosa Garman 1899 -- (Chirichigno F. & Vélez D. 1998:231 [ref. 24555], Nielsen & Cohen in Nielsen et al. 1999:62 [ref. 24448], Love et al. 2005:50 [ref. 37547], Castellanos-Galindo et al. 2006:197 [ref. 28944], Robertson et al. 2017:59 [ref. 35676], Love et al. 2021:82 [ref. 39279], Page et al. 2023:108 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Dicrolene filamentosa Garman 1899. Ophidiidae: Neobythitinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Oregon (U.S.A.) south to Peru. Habitat: marine.
