nigra, Dicrolene Garman [S.] 1899:150, Pls. 37 (fig. 2), 75 (fig. 1) [Memoirs of the Museum of Comparative Zoology v. 24; ref. 1540] Off Galápagos Islands, 1°S-7°N, 79°-89°W, Albatross station 3358, 3380, 3393, and 3402, depth 421-1020 fathoms. Holotype: MCZ 28667. Paratypes: MCZ 28664-65 (2, 3), 28668 (3), 102583 [ex MCZ 28667] (3). •Valid as Dicrolene nigra Garman 1899 -- (Pequeño 1989:48 [ref. 14125], Chirichigno F. & Vélez D. 1998:231 [ref. 24555], Nielsen & Cohen in Nielsen et al. 1999:62 [ref. 24448], Castellanos-Galindo et al. 2006:197 [ref. 28944], McCosker & Rosenblatt 2010:189 [ref. 30957], Grove et al. 2022:17 [ref. 41326]). Current status: Valid as Dicrolene nigra Garman 1899. Ophidiidae: Neobythitinae. Distribution: Southeastern Pacific: Panama south to Chile, including Galapagos Islands (Ecuador). IUCN (2010): Least Concern. Habitat: marine.
