Holotype: USNM 74126. Paratypes: BMNH 1939.4.1.10 [ex USNM] (1); USNM 99069-70 (1, 2), 99073 (1), 99089 (1), 99091-92 (1, 2), 99204 (1), 99229 (1), 99236 (1). •Valid as Neobythites longipes Smith & Radcliffe 1913 -- (Paxton et al. 1989:313 [ref. 12442], Nielsen & Cohen in Nielsen et al. 1999:82 [ref. 24448], Nielsen 1999:1981 [ref. 24753] as longiceps, Hutchins 2001:23 [ref. 25847], Nielsen 2002:38 [ref. 26394], Hoese et al. 2006:563 [ref. 29051], Uiblein & Nielsen 2018:162 [ref. 35819], Su et al. 2023:250 [ref. 40661], Uiblein & Nielsen 2023:196 [ref. 40427]). Current status: Valid as Neobythites longipes Smith & Radcliffe 1913. Ophidiidae: Neobythitinae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Western Australia to Philippines, north to Taiwan. Habitat: marine.
