Later treated as Harengula fijiensis by Fowler & Bean. Harengula and Sardinella are feminine, therefore mandatory change to fijiensis when placed in either genus. •Valid as Sardinella fijiensis (Fowler & Bean 1923) (often as fijiense) -- (Whitehead 1985:97 [ref. 5141], Munroe et al. 1999:1811 [ref. 24728], Randall 2005:55 [ref. 28239], Fricke et al. 2011:355 [ref. 31242]). Current status: Valid as Sardinella fijiensis (Fowler & Bean 1923). Dorosomatidae. Distribution: Western Pacific. Habitat: brackish, marine.
