In the title of the article the species was spelled tumidifrons, but it appeared as tumidirostris in the text and caption to Pl. 2; first reviser not researched, tumidirostris was selected by Eschmeyer 1998:1711 [ref. 23416]. •Synonym of Stygnobrotula latebricola Böhlke 1957 -- (Cohen & Nielsen 1978:51 [ref. 881], Nielsen & Cohen in Nielsen et al. 1999:111 [ref. 24448]).
