Holotype: USNM 214114 [ex OSUO 1915]. Paratypes: OSUO 1965 (1), ZMUC P77538 (1). •Valid as Barathronus pacificus Nielsen & Eagle 1974 -- (Cohen & Nielsen 1978:62 [ref. 881], Okiyama & Kato 1997:222 [ref. 22940], Nielsen & Cohen in Nielsen et al. 1999:139 [ref. 24448], Love et al. 2005:52 [ref. 37547], Nielsen et al. 2015:59 [ref. 33736], Møller et al. 2016:Appendix A [ref. 34432] in Bythitidae, Nielsen et al. 2019:565 [ref. 36568], Nielsen 2019:248 [ref. 36994], Love et al. 2021:84 [ref. 39279]). Current status: Valid as Barathronus pacificus Nielsen & Eagle 1974. Bythitidae. Distribution: North and southeast Atlantic, southern Australia and southwest and northeast Pacific. Habitat: marine.
