Holotype (unique): FAKU 3195 (apparently lost). •Valid as Pycnocraspedum microlepis (Matsubara 1943) -- (Okamura in Okamura et al. 1982:183, 355 [ref. 8256], Machida in Masuda et al. 1984:101 [ref. 6441], Nielsen & Cohen in Nielsen et al. 1999:87 [ref. 24448], Nakabo 2000:442 [ref. 25086], Nielsen in Randall & Lim 2000:596 [ref. 25122], Shinohara et al. 2001:308 [ref. 25995], Nakabo 2002:442 [ref. 26001], Evseenko & Okiyama 2006:195 [ref. 28760], Prokofiev 2022:683 [1022] [ref. 40458]). Current status: Valid as Pycnocraspedum microlepis (Matsubara 1943). Ophidiidae: Neobythitinae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: Kyushu-Palau Ridge north to Japan. Habitat: marine.
