Also appeared as Pyramodon punctatus in Regan 1914:20, Pl. 12 (fig. 3) [ref. 3659]. •Valid as Pyramodon punctatus (Regan 1914) -- (Olney & Markle 1986:354 [ref. 5701], Paxton et al. 1989:321 [ref. 12442], Paulin et al. 1989:132 [ref. 24556], Markle & Olney 1990:335 [ref. 18996], Heemstra in Smith & Heemstra 1995:354 [ref. 21953], Markle in Nielsen et al. 1999:20 [ref. 24448], Nielsen 1999:1978 [ref. 24753], Hoese et al. 2006:555 [ref. 29051], Parmentier 2015:712 [ref. 34258], Joshi et al. 2016:4 [ref. 34679] as punctatum, Heemstra 2022:261 [ref. 39704]). Current status: Valid as Pyramodon punctatus (Regan 1914). Carapidae: Pyramodontinae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Eastern Cape (South Africa); Australia, New Zealand. Habitat: marine.
