Holotype (unique): ZMUC P9296. Type catalog: Nielsen 1974:90 [ref. 9588]. Males unknown. •Valid as Chirophryne xenolophus Regan & Trewavas 1932 -- (Pietsch 1999:2032 [ref. 24766], Pietsch 2009:440 [ref. 30766]). Current status: Valid as Chirophryne xenolophus Regan & Trewavas 1932. Oneirodidae. Distribution: Pacific (3 specimens), Gulf of Mexico (1 specimen). Habitat: marine.
