Holotype (unique): ZMUC P9294. Type catalog: Nielsen 1974:96 [ref. 9588]. No males known. •Valid as Tyrannophryne pugnax Regan & Trewavas 1932 -- (Pietsch 1999:2032 [ref. 24766], Shao et al. 2008:244 [ref. 29952], Pietsch 2009:430 [ref. 30766]). Current status: Valid as Tyrannophryne pugnax Regan & Trewavas 1932. Oneirodidae. Distribution: Western and central Pacific (3 specimens). Habitat: marine.
