H.] 1915:379, Pl. 22 (fig. 24) [Proceedings of the United States National Museum v. 48 (no. 2075); ref. 1632] Off Santa Cruz Island, California, U.S.A., Albatross station 4428, depth 764-891 fathoms. Holotype (unique): USNM 75825. Males unknown. •Valid as Oneirodes acanthias (Gilbert 1915) -- (Orr 1991:1030 [ref. 16565], Mecklenburg et al. 2002:308 [ref. 25968], Mundy 2005:272 [ref. 28379], Pietsch 2009:410 [ref. 30766]). Current status: Valid as Oneirodes acanthias (Gilbert 1915). Oneirodidae. Distribution: Northeastern Pacific: Oregon (U.S.A.) to Baja California, and perhaps to the Hawaiian Islands. Habitat: marine.
