Type catalog: Andrews 1971:3 [ref. 31471], Andrews 1992:110 [ref. 22689]. •Valid as Trichophryne mitchelli (Morton 1897) -- (Pietsch 1984:39 [ref. 5380], Pietsch & Grobecker 1987:239 [ref. 20669], Paxton et al. 1989:281 [ref. 12442], Pietsch 2008:374 [ref. 30637]). •Valid as Echinophryne mitchelli [should be mitchellii] (Morton 1897) -- (Gomon et al. 1994:288 [ref. 22532], Lindberg et al. 1997:213 [ref. 23547], Allen et al. 2006:641 [ref. 29066], Arnold & Pietsch 2012:128 [ref. 31574]). Current status: Valid as Echinophryne mitchellii (Morton 1897). Antennariidae. Distribution: Southeastern Australia: New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. Habitat: marine.
