Current status: Valid as Arcos poecilophthalmos (Jenyns 1842). Gobiesocidae: Gobiesocinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Cocos Island (Costa Rica) and Galapagos Islands (Ecuador). IUCN (2022): Least Concern. Habitat: marine.
