Syntypes: USNM 29248 (orig. 2, now 1). Additional specimens: (1). •Valid as Arcos erythrops (Jordan & Gilbert 1882) -- (Briggs 1955:84 [ref. 637], Allen & Robertson 1994:85 [ref. 22193], De La Cruz Agüero et al. 1997:150 [ref. 24545], Thomson et al. 2000:266 [ref. 25640], Nelson et al. 2004:167 [ref. 27807], Love et al. 2005:159 [ref. 37547], Page et al. 2013:172 [ref. 32708], Galván-Villa et al. 2016:145 [ref. 34871], Love et al. 2021:201 [ref. 39279], Page et al. 2023:151 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Arcos erythrops (Jordan & Gilbert 1882). Gobiesocidae: Gobiesocinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: southern tip of Baja California Sur (Mexico) and Gulf of California (Mexico). Habitat: marine.
