Lectotype selected by Fels & Huber 1985:35 [ref. 8162] as USNM 86776 (26.4 mm). •Valid as Rivulus beniensis Myers 1927, subspecies beniensis Myers 1927 -- (Lazara 2001:270 [ref. 25711]). •Valid as Rivulus beniensis Myers 1927 -- (Fels & Huber 1985:33 [ref. 8162], Huber 1992:111 [ref. 20639], Costa in Reis et al. 2003:534 [ref. 27061], Costa 2006:150 [ref. 28875] in subgenus Benirivulus). •Valid as Anablepsoides beniensis (Myers 1927) -- (Costa 2011:243 [ref. 31655], Costa et al. 2013:292 [ref. 33108], Sarmiento et al. 2014:187 [ref. 35004], Valdesalici & Gil 2017:17 [ref. 35110], Careaga et al. 2020:77 [ref. 37774], Drawert 2023:19 [ref. 40730]). Current status: Valid as Anablepsoides beniensis (Myers 1927). Rivulidae: Rivulinae. Distribution: South America: Madeira River basin (Bolivia and Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
