Paratypes: AMNH 39142 [ex USNM 174255] (5); AMS IB.7308 (10); UMMZ 203852 [ex USNM 174253] (90, now 80); USNM 174252 (66), 174253 (90, now 0), 174254 (2), 174255 (28, now 13, 3 c&s). •Valid as Pseudomugil tenellus Taylor 1964 -- (Allen & Cross 1982:130 [ref. 6251], Paxton et al. 1989:353 [ref. 12442], Saeed et al. 1989:751 [ref. 13533], Larson & Martin 1990:31 [ref. 16606], Allen 1991:102 [ref. 21090], Unmack 2001:1062 [ref. 25797], Allen et al. 2002:169 [ref. 25930], Larson et al. 2013:62 [ref. 32988], Pusey et al. 2017:43 [ ref. 35250]). Current status: Valid as Pseudomugil tenellus Taylor 1964. Pseudomugilidae. Distribution: Australia and New Guinea. Habitat: freshwater.
