Lectotype established (as figured specimen) in caption to Pl. 123, p. 3259 in Jordan & Evermann 1900 [ref. 2446] if figured specimen is identifiable. A lectotype also designated by Barbour 1973:103 [ref. 5967]. •Valid as Chirostoma jordani Woolman 1894 -- (Espinosa Pérez et al. 1993:60 [ref. 22290], Fuller et al. 1999:280 [ref. 25838], Dyer in Reis et al. 2003:519 [ref. 27061], Nelson et al. 2004:98 [ref. 27807], Scharpf 2007:8 [ref. 30398], Page et al. 2013:100 [ref. 32708]). •Valid as Menidia jordani (Woolman 1894) -- (Miller 2006:197 [ref. 28615]). Current status: Valid as Chirostoma jordani Woolman 1894. Atherinopsidae: Menidiinae. Distribution: Central Mexico. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
