Lectotype selected by Kambikambi et al. 2021:14 [ref. 38355]. •Synonym of Barbus anoplus Weber 1897 -- (Lévêque & Daget 1984:226 [ref. 6186]). •Synonym of Enteromius anoplus (Weber 1897) -- (Hayes & Armbruster 2017:351 [ref. 35417]). •Valid as Enteromius cernuus (Barnard 1938) -- (Kambikambi et al. 2021:14 [ref. 38355]). Current status: Valid as Enteromius cernuus (Barnard 1938). Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Distribution: South Africa: Olifants River basin. Habitat: freshwater.
