Paratypes: (57, 2 localities) FMNH 4619 (1), 4631 (52), 72583 (3); MNHN 1905-0426 (5); USNM 94299 [ex FMNH 4631] (2), BMNH 1904.12.6.403-407 (6). Type catalog: Ibarra & Stewart 1987:37 [ref. 12367] with remark that holotype may be lost or mixed with paratypes [it may be in USNM 94299, L. Current status: Valid as Priapella bonita (Meek 1904). Poeciliidae: Poeciliinae. Distribution: Southern North America: upper Papaloapan River basin, Veracruz, Atlantic slope (Mexico) [probably extinct]. Habitat: freshwater.
