Lectotype established in Böhlke 1953:68 [ref. 12291]. •Valid as Gulaphallus eximius Herre 1925 -- (Parenti 1989:274 [ref. 13486], Kottelat 2013:284 [ref. 32989], Parenti 2014:178 [ref. 33268], Jamandre 2023:160 [ref. 40455]). Current status: Valid as Gulaphallus eximius Herre 1925. Phallostethidae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Philippines. Habitat: freshwater.
