Breeder [sic, for Breder] Jr. del American Museum of Natural History"; emended to brederi by authors. •Valid as Hyporhamphus brederi (Fernández-Yépez 1948) -- (Collette 1974:170 [ref. 7131], Collette in Reis et al. 2003:589 [ref. 27061], Collette 2004:6 [ref. 27583], Banford 2010:347 [ref. 31088], Collette & Bemis 2019:110 [ref. 37342], Taphorn et al. 2022:9 [ref. 41297]). Current status: Valid as Hyporhamphus brederi (Fernández-Yépez 1948). Hemiramphidae. Distribution: South America: Orinoco River and Amazon River (Brazil, Guyana and Venezuela). Habitat: freshwater.
