atlanticum, Oreosoma Cuvier [G.] in Cuvier & Valenciennes 1829:515, Pl. 99 [Histoire naturelle des poissons v. 4; ref. 998] Atlantic. Holotype: MNHN 0000-2242 (poor condition). Type catalog: Bauchot 1970:27 [ref. 20740]. Although not mentioned in the text (pp. 515-518), the name Oreosoma coniferum appeared on Pl. 99 and in the list of plates in v. 4; therefore, the names coniferum and atlanticum both refer to the same species. First reviser not researched.
